Just had the chance to attend TV On The Radio‘s screening of their upcoming feature film Nine Types of Light! (Thanks Amiiiiraaah). I was incredibly impressed and left inspired. What a great collection of videos and smart choice of directors and ideas. Each short film had its own unique feel and interpretation. I had personal favorites that stood out more than others, but the whole film is very ‘them’. I felt it reflects the band’s personality and goes flawlessly alongside the new music. Afterward the audience had a chance to sit and be part of Q&A with Tunde and Michelle (who helped put the movie together). (I recorded the Q&A, but need to figure out how to download the audio from my phone! :()
I left loving each of them a little bit more. This movie feels personal. It feels like a window into each of their souls. Cheesy yes, but its kind of true. Super fun, energetic, melancholy, chaotic, pensive, soulful, insightful with a nice pinch of humor. I really enjoyed it.
